There are two main groups of users one of them use Microsoft internet explorer and others Mozilla firefox.Microsoft internet explorer is almost 80% more vulnerable than Firefox,almost all people who lost private information,paypal accounts,credit card information was using internet explorer which are not safe.
I recommend you to download Mozilla firefox and use it all the time,don't install any plugins to it,because almost all of them tracking what website you are visiting so if you want be private you should not use any of them.
