I will explain something about Dedicated servers and Virtual private servers which one is better for you.

If you are going to open really big project on internet and expecting lot of traffic and downloads from it you should choise Dedicated server not VPS.

Dedicated server should be good for:
- Opening hosting service.
- Creating game server such as Lineage 2 or WoW
- Virtual private network solutions
- Torrent trackers
- Online video portal example like YouTube

Virtual private server should be good for:
- Some of multiple websites with 1-2k visitors daily.
- Small game server example counter-strike

But you probably will ask why I should use Virtual private server but not simple hosting ?

Hosting have 1 big problem I have used many hostings like servage.net or hostgator they all have same problem,they limit resources for website,example if you one day will receive very big traffic or someone will start flooding your website it is game over your website will be suspended and you will lose all your customers or visitors!

There are lot of reasons what is better for you to choise Virtual private server or Dedicated Server.

Before buying Dedicated server or Virtual private server you should do some calculation on money how much you can pay for server, traffic and downloads on server.

If you don't have expierence on Linux servers I not recommend you to buy it,because it will take some time till you learn all main commands and security stuff.

So if you not feel to have good expierence with servers you should take simple hosting for start and while you will use hosting learn some Linux server managment or if you have enough money you can take someone who will manage your server.

I really not recommend to buy managed Dedicated server because it is just money waysiting,try to learn it yourself
